Le “Cercle UFBE de Washington DC” fait partie du réseau international de l’association
“Union francophone des Belges à l’étranger” (UFBE).
Au niveau local, notre but est de favoriser l’intégration des Belges francophones récemment
installés dans la capitale américaine et les états avoisinants du Maryland et de Virginie,
et de faciliter les contacts entre expatriés. Pour ce faire, nous organisons chaque année
entre 6 et 8 activités sociales, culturelles, dégustatrices ou autres. Ces initiatives
amusantes permettent aux membres, à leur familles et leurs amis de se retrouver dans un cadre
sympathique et d’établir de nouvelles relations. Aux expatriés de longue date, nous offrons
ainsi la possibilité de maintenir un lien convivial avec la Belgique et les nouveaux
arrivants.
Le “Cercle UFBE de Washington DC” se veut inclusif. Les conjoints américains ou anglophones,
les compatriotes néérlandophones, germanophones, ainsi que les Francophones d’autres pays sont
également les bienvenus.
En Belgique, les membres affiliés à l’UFBE bénéficient de toute une série d’avantages et de
services –pour la plupart gratuits- rendus dans nos bureaux de Bruxelles par une équipe de
spécialistes de l’expatriation. Ceux-ci sont à votre écoute et à votre disposition, par
téléphone, par fax ou par email.

The VIW - Washington Flanders Club brings together a diverse group of people
who have an interest in Flanders and Flemish culture. It is a "circle of friends"
who get together to enjoy each other's company at a whole range
of activities. It also aims at making Flanders better known to people who
are not from the Flemish region. We therefore also welcome French and English
speaking friends and we hope all interested enjoy being part of our organization.
We offer an exciting program such as a summer brunch, a champagne & dessert New Year
celebration, nature walks, ice skating, a wine-tasting week-end, theatre, music and
information evenings.
The club also has a monthly get-together "Tussen Pot & Pint" at
the Elephant Castle, 1201 Pennsylvania Ave NW Washington DC 20004 (202) 347-7707.
Every first Friday of the month (except January, July and August) at 7 pm we meet to
have a beer and to catch up on things. You'll be amazed how fast your Dutch improves
when you're tasting a smooth Belgian beer!
All this and more for a membership fee of $25 per person or $35 per
family.

The Belgian Club of Northern California (BCNC) was originally
established in 1901 as a non-profit, non-political and non-religious
organization. Its objectives are to form a powerful network to help
Belgians residing in or visiting the San Francisco Bay Area to promote
the image of Belgium and to encourage the social ties within the local
Belgian community.
In order to meet the diverse interests of its membership, the BCNC
organizes a wide range of social, cultural, and outdoors activities,
including ski trips, camping weekends, lectures by visiting Belgian
artists and professors, Belgian movie-nights, visits by Saint Nicholas,
Belgian National Holiday Celebrations, etc. Any member can propose and
organize activities.

The "Orde van den Prince" is an international
organization with chapters in some 20 countries
where Dutch is practiced, a language spoken both
in Belgium and in the Netherlands.
The Order was established in 1955 in Kortrijk, Belgium
(the Manhattan chapter in 1985) and is governed by
Presidium, presently with headquarters in Antwerp,
Belgium. The Order's main objective is to study, experience
and expand the Netherlandish culture and character,
in personal, familly and community life.

The Society of Friends of Belgium was established in the fall of 2006 to identify,
support and stimulate Belgo-American cultural initiatives in the United States.
Exposing the richness of Belgian culture to the American public promotes the
image of Belgium in the U.S. and enhances the mutual understanding between
the two countries.
The Society of Friends of Belgium is a private not-for-profit organization based
in New York, comprised entirely of volunteers. It receives the active support
of the Ambassador of Belgium in Washington and the Consul General of
Belgium in New York. The Society is chaired by Mr. François M. de Visscher and
guided by a Board of Advisors, composed of Americans and Belgians based in
the U.S. and in Belgium. All operating expenses of the organization are provided
by The Board and the Executive Committee so that all money contributed goes
towards supporting the initiatives of the organization.
